Update

It looks like winter is finally arriving, can't really complain after the rather fine weather we have had during October.

We have seen a real uptake on the Nordic Shower heads with many individuals, businesses and even local authorities making purchases in order to reduce their water and related hot water consumption. We have had some really good feedback on how they perform (with 85% reporting a better shower experience, 10% no difference and 5% a drop in shower experience). For businesses and authorities the added benefit of having a lime scale free guarantee for 5 years is a major plus, with maintenance of showers a high Health & Safety priority.

We have some exciting new products coming out in December and early part of January 2012 and we are continuing to focus our attention on resource consumption products that can reduce water, gas or electricity usage and the directs costs associated with using them,

One of our new products that is now available is the external solar sensor light which does not need any cables, weight of 1kg, 4000mAh battery that fully charged will last one month without any further charging. So for the purpose of security and convenience lighting this product really is very practical and what is more it is very durable and built to take the winters in the UK !

Cloud Computing & RECs

I am here to shout about some really exciting developments in the world of power and resources.

Firstly our new products. Well, so we don't concentrate too much on us (it's too easy to get wrapped up in self promotion) you know where our website is so please visit it and take a look at the energy consumption and mobile energy categories.
With regards to the world developments well:

Cloud computing is gaining pace, but what does this mean as we all start to use our devices for processing information and where the data is stored remotely.
Larger and more data centres, consuming more energy ?
There is news that Iceland will see the Worlds FIRST zero carbon data centre, with power provided by geothermal and hydroelectric power. The Guardian reports on this.

Forum for the Future ?

Over the last four months or so I've been trying to make it a regular routine for me to read articles & blogs on Forum for the Future who are a non profit organisation that assist business and government in the area of sustainability.

At first, I must be honest, I thought it was going to be a case of of them showing how good they are and towing the government line. However, I like to admit when I am wrong and in this case I am very wrong.

The articles are clear and easy to understand and not full of acronyms and jargon that only a specialist would understand.

Are Police stations less prominent now ?

Short post this time but sometimes these are more thought provoking than the long ones.

One of the guys in the office had to take a relative to Heathrow and their car journey entailed passing through a number of different London areas.

On their way back during the evening they noticed a Police Station with its external blue sign lights on and the office guy commented that he could not remember the last time he saw a police station with lights on.
